Panama Pacific International Exposition Society Accepts Tiens Cordyceps Mycelium Capsule for Certification Review
The Panama Pacific International Exposition Society has accepted the Tiens Cordyceps Mycelium Capsule for certification review. The history of international expositions dates back to the Victorian era in Britain. In 1851, during the peak of the Industrial Revolution, Britain hosted the unprecedented Great Exhibition to showcase its formidable strength. Directed by Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria, the event lasted five months and attracted over six million visitors. The exhibition left behind the magnificent Crystal Palace, a testament to the highest technological achievements of the time and marking the large-scale dissemination of international civilization in a new pattern.
Around 1905, the Qing government recognized the importance of hosting international expositions and issued the “General Regulations for Participating in Expositions Abroad,” consisting of 20 articles. These regulations outlined unified rules for Chinese merchants attending international expositions abroad, encouraging them to “select carefully” and actively participate in the competition.
In 1915, during the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) in San Francisco, Chinese newspapers extensively covered the world fair, sparking an unprecedented “exposition fever.” The Beiyang government took it very seriously, sending a delegation of 40 people led by Chen Qi. The exhibits were shipped in two batches, totaling over 2,000 tons. The China National Pavilion, funded by the government at a cost of over 90,000 yuan and modeled after Beijing’s Hall of Supreme Harmony, was adorned with a strong national character and beloved by visitors from various countries. China’s tremendous success at the world fair, with 56 grand prizes, 67 honorary awards, 196 gold medals, 239 silver medals, and 147 bronze medals, demonstrated China’s strength and influence at the time. It showcased the diligence and wisdom of the Chinese people and highlighted the importance of international cooperation and exchange. This event not only garnered global attention at the time but also offers many lessons and thoughts for us today.
Today, we can draw inspiration from the 1915 exposition to continue promoting the spirit of international cooperation and cultural exchange. As globalization progresses, countries are becoming more interconnected, and cultural exchange and cooperation have become important forces driving world development. Through similar international events, we can foster mutual understanding and friendship between different countries, collectively address global challenges, and achieve shared development.
In a series of events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the 45th Mayor of San Francisco, London N. Breed, mentioned the importance of recapturing the spirit of the PPIE era and focusing on the past, present, and future.
